Extradition hearing adjourned for Irishman convicted of Marbella manslaughter: "The Irish High Court has adjourned for another month the extradition proceedings which are underway in Ireland for a man who is wanted in Spain to serve a two year sentence for manslaughter.
Michael Dermot McArdle’s wife, Kelly Anne Corcoran, died after falling from a hotel balcony in Marbella in February 2000 during an argument with her husband. The jury which gave the original verdict in the case considered that he had no intention of killing her and had, in fact, tried to stop her from falling.
The case then went to the Andalucía High Court of Justice, which noted when it confirmed the previous ruling that McArdle had failed to observe the most fundamental duty of care which any person should observe in such a dangerous situation."
